Angle grinder brushes are heavy-duty surface preparation accessories designed for aggressive and semi-finishing mechanical cleaning on metal, wood, masonry, and concrete. Their primary function is the rapid removal of stubborn rust, old paint, heavy scale, and welding slag, as well as edge deburring and surface profiling prior to coating or painting. Depending on the operational geometry, the lineup includes cup brushes, bevel brushes, and flat wheel (radial) brushes. The bristle filaments are manufactured from crimped wire (for lighter, flexible surface cleaning and irregular surfaces) or twisted knot wire (for high-impact, aggressive material removal) available in high-carbon steel, brass-coated steel, or stainless steel. Additionally, abrasive nylon brushes are utilized for delicate wood texturing and grain finishing. Critical selection criteria include the mounting arbor (typically an M14 internal thread), outer diameter, wire gauge and configuration, and the maximum rated RPM to ensure both optimal performance and operator safety.
