Ball joint and tie rod tools are engineered for the safe and non-destructive separation of steering and suspension components that are tightly pressed into tapered friction fits and subjected to heavy road corrosion. Instead of aggressively striking the knuckle with a hammer (which inevitably destroys the rubber dust boot, compromises the threaded stud, or warps the casting), professionals utilize dedicated mechanical separators. The catalog offers wedge-style pickle forks for rapid separation (ideal when the joint is being discarded), as well as precise screw-type and scissor-action joint press pullers that gently pop the tapered stud free while keeping the rubber boot intact. Additionally, specialized tubular inner tie rod wrenches are available for reaching deep into the steering rack.
