Sanding blocks and sponges are ergonomic abrasive tools designed for manual finishing of flat surfaces, edges, and profiles. The foam base conforms to the contours of the workpiece, decreasing the risk of clogging and allowing for precise pressure control. The abrasive is applied to one or more sides, and a water-resistant version is available for wet sanding. The grit range covers coarse matting, interlayer sanding, and pre-polishing finishing. Sanding sponges are indispensable when working with paints, varnishes, fillers, wood, plastic, and composites—especially in areas that are difficult to reach with a power tool: ribs, panels, and transitions. Anti-clogging coatings and an open-cell structure reduce dust buildup. For consistent results, use short, crisscrossing motions, shake off dust regularly, and—for wet applications—rinse the sponge with clean water. For large-scale projects, we recommend planning a sequence of operations: preliminary surface preparation, main processing with controlled temperature and vibration, followed by finishing with the correct selection of consumables. This approach reduces the total cost of ownership and ensures consistent quality from batch to batch.
