Rotary hammers (or SDS drills) are powerful, hand-held percussive power tools specifically engineered for drilling holes in extremely hard materials such as reinforced concrete, masonry, brick, and natural stone. Most modern models feature three distinct operating modes: rotation only (for drilling wood and metal), hammer drilling (for concrete), and chiseling/hammer only (for light demolition or chasing channels).
