Metal band saws are the most highly efficient machines for the high-speed severing of metal stock (including pipes, angle iron, channels, and solid bar stock). The cutting element is a continuous, bi-metal welded blade loop. Unlike abrasive chop saws, a band saw performs a true "cold cut"; the metal does not overheat, and the resulting kerf is flawlessly clean and virtually burr-free.
